Social Impact

The Alliance for International Youth Development (AIYD) is a community of practice and advocacy coalition of leading U.S.- based youth and community development organizations.

Social Impact (SI) is a global social enterprise dedicated to helping international agencies, civil society and governments become more effective agents of positive change. SI’s mission is to undertake innovative approaches to research, evaluation, monitoring, management consulting, and capacity building to help organizations enhance their performance and improve social and economic outcomes of individuals, organizations and societies around the world.

Recognizing the important role youth play in international development, SI has undertaken numerous projects across a broad range of sectors to help determine best practices in improving youth outcomes that will enhance overall development objectives. Some of the programs, projects, and activities that SI has evaluated include impact evaluations, performance evaluations, and project design and capacity building activities spanning sectors and regions and targeting at-risk youth and youth in fragile and conflict-affected environments.

SI designed and is implementing rigorous, randomized impact evaluations of the A Ganar Alliance Program, a program utilizing soccer and other team sports to help youth in Latin America and the Caribbean gain professional skills and employment.

SI conducted a series of individual assignments for International Research and Exchanges Board including a final evaluation of the Assistance to Russian Orphans 2 M&E and Reporting Systems, facilitating stakeholder interviews and developing practical recommendations for consolidating program results and improving M&E systems. SI also facilitated youth Focus Groups, trained youth facilitators, created survey questions, analyzed responses and reviewed and made recommendations for the Youth Development Competencies Program (YDCP) Program M&E Plan.

SI is currently completing USAID’s Caribbean Youth Assessment throughout the Eastern and Southern Caribbean, conducting a cross-sectoral regional assessment and providing key insights on the situation of at-risk and vulnerable youth relating to economic opportunity, psycho-social, education, juvenile justice, political participation, civil society and vocational training.

SI also designed tools and methodologies to assess knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of non-beneficiaries and beneficiaries for programs aiming to reduce delinquency and recidivism of at-risk and imprisoned youth in Morocco.
